Two pieces of legislation that have the potential to change campus life in Georgia are currently being worked on in the Georgia Legislature. House Bill 615, put forth by Rep. Tim Bearden (R Villa Rica), and "Georgia's Common Sense Lawful Carry Act," proposed by Senate Majority Whip Mitch Seabaugh (R Coweta County), could make it legal for students and faculty to carry handguns on campus.

Hubby and I were living in upstate New York and looking forward to our trip to Las Vegas for a convention.
Through a comedy of errors we arrived about 2 a.m. We were dismayed to find that our room at Mandalay Bay had been given away!
We were so tired from our long day of travel, and we visibly slumped when the desk clerk informed us of this news.

With Wednesday's victory over UAB, the Tigers (22-8, 12-3) moved into sole possession of the second overall seed in next week's Conference USA tournament.

The other day, during a low moment in my life, I found myself watching C-SPAN. They just so happened to be covering the congressional hearings regarding the mass recalls coming out of the Toyota camp. I found myself both intrigued, amused and terrified all at once.

This past Sunday Southeast's Department of Theatre and Dance wrapped up its production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "Carousel." Amidst the various production values of note, one aspect stood out above all else: the vocal performances.
Southeast Artist in Residence Judith Farris, who has spent the better part of her career performing operas around the world and coaching such Broadway luminaries as Matthew Broderick and Tyne Daly, was the force behind those performances.

Donna Sowder loves Eastern athletics.
You can always spot her at home basketball games - she's the very vocal one, usually passionately waving a towel in the air over her head, half-hanging over the banister above the Colonel bench.
"I love all [the sports]," Sowder said.

Last Wednesday, as I was sitting in the Keen Johnson Building at the first of Eastern's 2010 tuition forums, I saw something I considered a big surprise: a great turnout amongst the student body.
To my relief, I saw more attention paid to the tuition forum than I have to nearly any issue that has arisen on Eastern's campus in the three years I've been here.
