'JUICY' WEB SITE WREAKS HAVOC ON CAMPUS

Apparently, the bathroom stall isn't the only place to find out who's doing what. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, students who had not yet heard about the Internet's next social phenomenon were introduced to it, a Web site that purports to provide "online anonymous free speech on college campuses. Removing TSU from JuicyCampus.com may prove difficult. Removing individual posts about people, however, may be impossible. Under certain laws, Web sites that host information some may view as libelous are free from most forms of legal prosecution. "JuicyCampus is the provider of an interactive computer service," states the Web site in its frequently asked questons section. (4) comments

On Monday, Nov. 17, students may have noticed a few non-traditional faces sitting beside them in classes. President Melvin N. Johnson and members of his cabinet shadowed members of the Student Government Association around campus, attending classes and observing TSU academics first-hand. (0) comments

The latest online sensation to hit TSU's campus is www.juicycampus.com. Unlike typical community Web sites, Juicy Campus has garnered negative attention from students as well as university administration. In response to several complaints and posts published on the site, Juicy Campus is now banned on the university Internet network. (3) comments

Racial crimes result from Obama's win

Since Nov. 4, when president-elect Barack Obama won the presidential election, many racial crimes have been reported across the country. Incidents range from nooses being hung from trees, to posters of the first family being defaced with death threats, to cross burnings. (0) comments

The Alpha Psi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host their Annual Dance-A-Thon on Saturday, Nov. 22. The all-night extravaganza will be held in the basement of Kean Hall, room 040. This year the chapter will incorporate a canned food drive for a local charity. (0) comments
