Obama names new Secretary

President-elect Barack Obama named political party rival Bill Richardson as Commerce Secretary of the United States. The New Mexico governor will fill the top economic position with a plethora of financial woes to eradicate and eliminate. Obama describes Richardson as an "economic diplomat for America". Dezirae Spain, The Beta Omicron chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated's Miss Black and Gold, won the district title of Miss Black and Gold Association of Tennessee Alpha Men during the November 22nd district competition. The scholarship pageant took place in TSU's Kean hall. (0) comments

Murs soars on major label debut

Murs for President Murs Grade: A A much-needed breath of fresh air is brought to listeners with the smooth and up-tempo hip-hop groove of an album by an artist who goes by the name Murs. While Murs has been in the game for a while, Murs for President is his major label debut. (0) comments

From slavery to the Civil Rights Act, blacks were considered inferior. Skin color once divided our country, but now one of our own has finally made it to the top. In four days, our country will never be the same. The United States of America will welcome its first black president, Barack Obama. (0) comments

Obama's election does not mean that we have won. Indeed his appointments of neo-conservative ideologues, if anything indicate that we are far from liberation. I think black people know that. The black bourgeoisie will have government jobs, which may explain the mass hysteria on our esteemed campus. (1) comment

JuicyCampus is working collaboratively with the Tennessee chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union to bring a lawsuit against TSU for a direct violation of the First Amendment rights of students. Matt Ivester, the Web site's founder and CEO, believes administrators' decision to ban access to the Web site disables the purpose of the open forum and violates students' freedom of speech, assembly and press.
