Amid the rush of getting to class and maintaining an active college life, it's easy to work up a hearty appetite.

These on-campus eateries can all be paid for by using your student ID card or by paying cash. KFC and The Sub can count as part of your meal plan, but you only get $2.90 for breakfast, $3.50 for lunch, and $4.14 for dinner.

Anything over those amounts will be subtracted from your declining balance. The declining balance is a pre-determined amount of money added to meal plans for additional purchases in campus food establishments.

Sports Zone and the Onjeta Cafe can only be paid for using your declining balance. Sound good? Beware: don't let the $100 in declining balance fool you. The funds will be gone before you know it. Bon Appetite!

KFC, which is located inside of the Rudolph dormitory offers chicken as well as salads and subs. The downside is that they close earlier than any other restaurant on campus. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. In short, get there early.

The Sub is located on the second floor of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center. Inside of the Sub, you will find Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Burger King. They also have sandwiches, salads, yogurt, cereal and many other snacks. The Sub is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday thru Friday and on the weekends 4 p.m.-8 p.m.

The Cafeteria is located on the first floor of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center. It is all-you-can-eat using your meal plan; however, if you pay without your meal plan the prices are $4.12 for breakfast, $5.15 for lunch and $5.15 for dinner. This is especially great when your declining balance is running low.

Aside from the normal rising eyebrows at the "school food," the variety of salads, fruits, vegetables and meats will keep you full.

Sports Zone is located between the Ford Residence Complex and the New Residence Complex which are about five minutes from campus. They sell Hamburgers, wings and many other foods that normal Sports Grills provide.

The Onjeta Cafe is TSU's own little coffeshop, that brews Starbucks. For the coffee lovers, they serve tasty cappuccinos, lattes, etc. As for those who aren't big on caffeine, there are many fruit smoothies, Tiger Blasts (ice cream with different candies), and pastries.
