Here we are again everyone. Another Greek week has passed and there is one more to go. The Alpha Theta chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi usually gives us sexual seduction (honestly that's what I thought the theme was going to be). This year they gave us KSPN: League of Our own.
During a probate, spotlight yourselves. Tell the audience something about the history. Spotlight the talents, in this case cane twirling. Thank you members of Kappa Alpha Psi for doing just that. Though there was a mistake or two with the cane exhibitions, one member was pretty awesome. If I'm not mistaken he threw his cane around his ankle. Fancy. They talked about the thing they knew the most about.
THEMSELVES. And why not, that's what you're there for right? Well-played gentlemen.
As for the incident with the young lady in the chair, way to put out a fire before it started. Last week, I witnessed children at another event that might not have been suitable for children. This time, a child jumped into a situation she knew nothing about. It was good to see everything come to a screeching halt.
For those that didn't attend the probate, they set up chairs and invite young ladies to have a seat and be entertained by some "dancing" brought to you by the newest members. Well on this particular night a young 'tween' decided to take a seat. This girl was clearly under 18. After viewing the situation, one of the Kappa's came from the sidelines and asked her to get up before proceeding with the dancing for the ladies.
But while you had those young ladies in the chairs, what exactly did you do? A lot of those ladies were expecting the usual Kappa lap dances. Is this a new Alpha Theta? An Alpha Theta light if you will?
The past two themes for Kappa week have been 7 Deadly Sins/ 7 Heavenly Virtues and Kappa Sutra.. Some of these days were so sex driven and sexually themed, you couldn't help but feel the prescence.
As we walk around the student center and gaze upon the decorations, students noticed the lack of sexual themes that typically come with Kappa week. One year even featured a bed including rose petals where the balloons usually are.
