Obama's Victory Does Not Mean We Have Won

Again, the purpose and goal of these actions is not to invest, involve fully or become entangled in this system, but to milk it for what it is currently worth. Undoubtedly, there is a flaw in my thinking and that's your job: identify it. Solidify it. Come up with something better.
I think we as scholars are also obligated to teach. We should ride this wave of political consciousness in the Black community and tell people what they can do to better their communities through political action, economic action or social action within the system, to twist the system and to move outside the system.
I believe local elections to be the most important. Who is on your school board? Who is your local representative and senator? Who is your mayor? Certain places could have whole school systems on lock and switch up curriculum, or at least allocate resources for better schools. After all, education is where it all starts. Education is where we all started.
I challenge us to all ride this wave and find a way to use it to do something for our people that Barack Obama cannot and/or will not do. Is borrowed words are of use, "We are the change we have been waiting for."

Seriously this is a load of crap. So basically you want to elect black people to office so that you can get more hand outs. You think this is about winning or losing? How much longer are blacks, and I'm not saying all but many, going to talk about being persecuted and discriminated against. (Continued…)
