Action film perfect for summer consumption

In the 2009 action thriller Taken, a skilled hand to hand retired CIA "Preventer" has 96 hours to rescue his daughter after being kidnapped during her vacation in Europe.
Bryan Mills(Liam Neeson) retired form the CIA with the hopes of forming a relationship with his 17 year old daughter.
His daughter Maggie Grace (Kim) lives with her mother Lenore (Famke Janssen) and rich husband Stuart (Xander Berkely).
Bryan takes a job with friends to make ends meat, turns out that the job is guarding a rock star by the name of Sheera(Holly Vance), after saving her life, she request to see Bryan to offer him a favor.
Kim asks her father to lunch. Bryan is ecstatic and accepts the invitation. Bryan thinks that it is just going to be him and his daughter, but Lenore show up too.
During lunch Kim asks he father to sign a parental consent so she can tour Europe. Kim tells her father that she will be in Paris with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy) and tell will be under adult supervision and visiting museums most of their time in Paris.
Bryan initially say no and enlighten his daughter of the danger of going to Paris, but with Kim pushing the issues and her mother bad talking Bryan, he finally show at the house the next day with the signed consent papers and an international cell phone and some conditions.
One of the condition were for Bryan to take her to the airport and he gave her an order to call him went she arrives at the airport in Paris. A long with calling him every night and giving him the address and phone number to the places were she will be staying.
Once they get to the airport, Bryan finds out that he has been lied to and Kim is really following a rock band on a Europe tour. The new information makes Bryan upset, but it is to late to do anything about the situation.
The movie starts slow but establish characters and relationships early.
After reaching the airport, the two young ladies meet a European man by the name of Peter (Nicolas Giraud), who suggested to them two that they should share a cab together because it would be less expensive that a way.
