The Tigers Women's golf team finished first at last weekend's Alabama A&M Golf Classic.

The win marked the first this season for the Tigers as they head into the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville.

Three Tigers finished in the Top 5 and four in the top 10 with the lone Tiger not in the top 10, Mya Billingsley, finishing in 11th place.

Leading the way for the Tigers was senior Danielle Stewart who led all golfers. She shot a 86 on the par 72 course finishing at 14-over par.

That was just enough as she finished just a single stroke ahead of Brittany Beard from Southern University.

Marie Black and Marissa Edge shot a 91 and 93, respectively to finish in fourth and fifth place.

Genesis Fitzgerald shot a 96 overall to finish in eighth place.

Her efforts in combination of the rest of the team gave the Tigers a collective score of 366.

The score was enough to defeat the host school the Bulldogs by 22 strokes.

This week's test will be the Tigers last before the OVC Championship Tournament April 22-24 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
