TSU basketball players showcased their talent one final time in the second annual Tennessee all-star game.

TSU alumni Ceci Shell and former coach Brian "Penny" Collins continued to give back and allowed senior college basketball players a final shot to display their talents on the collegiate level.

Three TSU senior basketball players, Jerrell Houston, Emanuel Gaither, and Stephan Evans, were among those who took the court at Belmont University on April 18.

"It feels good to have put together an event for college students to showcase their talents and god-given ability," Collins said.

For Shell, an aspiring sports agent, this was her second year hosting this event with co-founder Collins.

"My goal was to show the scouts out there the regional talent here in Tennessee and what these players have to offer," Shell said.

The basketball event was a display for senior basketball players from around the state of Tennessee. The various universities included, TSU, Belmont, Trevecca, Austin Peay, Cumberland, Martin Methodist, Lipscomb, ETSU, Tennessee Tech and UTC.

One of Houston's goals for the night was to show off his long vertical leaping ability as he showed all throughout the season on his way to averaging 13.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg. On the night he went 3 for 4 from the field and finish with eight points and four rebounds.

"I was looking forward to playing in this game with my friends and talented players from other conferences," Houston said. "I think it was good for the scouts to get a look at me when our goal was to win."

Gaither was one of the stars on the night going 8-for-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line.

To go along with eight rebounds and three steal times finishing with 20 points in total, which was the second most for the home team.

"I was quite honored to play in this game, and I hoped I was able to gain as much exposure as possible to myself to contribute on any of the various next levels," Gaither said.
