President Obama gave a speech Tuesday that was channeled into classrooms worldwide encouraging students nationwide to stay in school and work hard. That sounds like a beneficial and positive message, right? Not everyone thinks so.
Many conservative parents became uptight and outraged, because they felt the president was trying to indoctrinate their children with socialist ideas. Since when did telling a child that education is important become Socialist?
President Obama has felt the brunt of many criticism since he made his way to the White House, but this is by far the most bizarre.
Obama's the President of the United States, and that makes him the most qualified person to encourage anyone about education.
He has taken the time out of his hectic schedule to stop and talk to those who matter most, the future leaders and workers of this country. Despite all that, people have the nerve to get upset.
No child left behind. Yeah right! Maybe the thought of having a black man inform their children that an education can take them to places beyond what they could ever imagine refutes what they believe about us as a race.
Kudos to President Obama for not only stepping outside the box, and putting children first in a way that is not only relatable but radical.
Some parents went as far as complaining to principals, and even keeping their children at home. This country will never grow if we do not accept change.
Obama is a well-educated black man who happened to earn, not win, the most upright title in this country. Now get over it!•
